Shout, The Klout Remix

Songs from the Big Chair and the hit single Shout catapulted new wave band Tears for Fears into international stardom.

According to Wikipedia, Shout was one of the most significant hit songs of the eighties.

I wondered how Orzabel and Smith might reformulate this blockbuster hit in the age of social media influence.

When the answer came to me, I nearly fell off my big chair.

Presenting Shout, the Klout Remix.
A studio session or two away from going platinum

(Refrain)
Klout, Klout, sort it all out
Give us a rank we can’t live without
Come on – I’m talking ’bout you
Come on.

In social times, you shouldn’t have to sell your soul
In red and white, you really, really ought to know
Who holds the sway, that separates the man from boy
Just earn plus K, and in return you’ll jump for joy

And in return you’ll jump for joy

(Refrain)
Klout, Klout, sort it all out
Give us a rank we can’t live without
Come on – I’m talking ’bout you
Come on.

They gave you perks, your score oh how it made you glow
But then it tanked, and now your Klout it really blows

And now your Klout it really blows

(Refrain)
Klout, Klout, sort it all out
Give us a rank we can’t live without
Come on – I’m talking ’bout you
Come on.

And when you wish upon a score
If I could set my Klout, I think I’d make it 84

I think I’d make it 84

(Refrain)
Klout, Klout, sort it all out
Give us a rank we can’t live without
Come on – I’m talking ’bout you
Come on.

Well, I’m off to work on my next project, building off a 1980 hit Pete Townshend single.  The remix: Let Twylah Open the Door.

What ideas do you have to inspire a remix of your favorite tunes, and give them some social freshness?
